Edna Golandsky Presents Poland Workshop

Edna Golandsky will be presenting a four-day workshop at the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice, Poland, from January 19-22, 2017.  Students are invited to attend master classes, workshops, and lectures on the transformative Taubman Approach. Ms. Golandsky will also give private lessons for an additional fee. Participants will have access to the Academy’s practice facilities and are encouraged to register early to reserve spaces in workshops and lessons with Edna Golandsky. Katowice and the surrounding areas are rich in history and culture with many local museums, galleries, and concerts at the Academy and the National Radio Symphony. Spend the week in Poland studying with Edna Golandsky and take in the artistic wealth of Poland’s “City of Music.”

About the Academy of Music in Katowice

Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music is the leading conservatory in Poland and responsible for training known artists such as Henryk Mikołaj Górecki, Wojiech Kilar, Kryztian Zimerman, Anna Górecka, Wojciech Świtała, Andrzej Jasinski, Danuta Mirka, Maria Szwajger-Kułakowska, Marek Moś, Marek Toporowski, and many more.

Of particular strength is its piano department, led by Prof. Anna Górecka, who has produced top prize-winners of many major piano competitions in the world (Chopin, Liszt, Leeds, Long-Thibaud, Rubinstein, Queen Elisabeth, Brahms-Hamburg, etc.).  Students come from around the world to study at the academy and have developed their careers and talents here since 1929. Recently, the Academy revealed its new concert hall, “Aula Szabelskiego” which has become a popular concert venue and facility for master classes.
